| Many of the well known rental car agencies are represented here along with several local-only operations. You will find a wide variety of rental cars, 4-wheel drive vehicles, vans and minibuses, as well as scooters or motorbikes. In order to rent a car you will need to present a valid drivers licence from your country and purchase a Visitors Driving Permit. Typically, loss damage insurance and third party liability coverage are not included in quoted rates. You should inquire into you own insurance policies prior to declining coverage offered by the car rental company. Most rental agencies require drivers to be at least 21 years old. Cayman drivers are known for their courtesy and you'll be pleasantly surprised at how easy it often is to get a break when trying to merge onto busy roads. We are however not without our share of bad drivers so be careful when driving on our roads. For an island that is just 22 miles long with an average width of just four miles, stuck smack bang in the middle of the western Caribbean, Grand Cayman still offers a multitude of things to see and do, with a slew of attractions from West Bay to Bodden Town, fabulous beaches all over the island, restaurants tucked away in secluded spots and much more, all around the island. or this reason, renting a car is an absolute must, as any visitor will want to make the most of their stay, however short (as tempting as it is to just lay on the smooth white sands of Seven Mile Beach all day long!) Grand Cayman is fortunate to have a wide range of car rental agencies to supply the varying transportation needs of visitors.
Grand Cayman's car rental agencies offer daily car rental rates ranging between US$26 for compact cars in the Summer season (mid April to mid December) to significantly higher prices for jeeps, vans & premium cars. |
